Bingley & Airedale
Stanza Stones - Hebden Bridge to BingleyDay 2 of the 3 day Stanza Stones walk from Marsden to Ilkley via Hebden Bridge and Bingley starts in Hebden Bridge and takes you up Nut Clough, the source of devastating flooding in Hebden Bridge during the summer of 2012. There are two long steep climbs on this section, the first taking you up onto Midgley Moor, the second onto Warley Moor via the interesting crenellated buildings of Lowe Farm and Castle Carr. Over Warley Moor (watch out for the boggy bits!) and past the reservoir is the Mist Stone, the only Stanza Stone on this part of the walk. Then the walk takes you through Goitstock Woods and Cottingley woods as it descends into Bingley. For full details of the Stanza Stones see the booklet online by clicking here.
