Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd & The Calder Valley
Haworth to Hebden Bridge - walk 2This walk and Haworth to Hebden Bridge Walk 1 can both be done in reverse, starting in Hebden and ending at The Fleece Inn in Haworth. If you start from the Tourist Information Centre in Haworth the route takes you over Penistone Hill Country Park, past Drop Farm and Leeshaw Reservoir and up Bodkin Lane, which is a steep climb. Bodkin Lane becomes Stairs Lane and continues as the Calder Aire Link on an obvious track to the Top of Stairs. From here on top of the moor you can see the path winding between walls to the horizon. Gradually you start to go downhill amongst fields to Grain Water Bridge. There the path turns right and follows the contours along the hill to the ruined farm at Nook. Straight on down the hill to Crimshaw Dean and through the woodland where the autumn colours are stunning, to Horse Bridge and along Hebden Water to Hebden Bridge and if you have the energy, explore what has been described a please add the missing copy...!

ROUTE PROFILE

Unusual structure on Lower Laithe Reservoir, visible from Bodkin Lane
Ice cream needed after this climb. The cobbled road takes you up to The Stairs, which continues the climb up on to the moor top and on a good day gives fantastic views in all directions
There is a view across the valley directly above Crimsworth Dean, and the Dean itself is spectacular in autumn with the woodland a multitude of colours
