Haworth, Bronte Country & Forest Of Trawden
Haworth to Hebden Bridge - walk 1This walk and Haworth to Hebden Bridge Walk 2 can both be done in reverse, or combined to create a circular walk going out one way and back the other. If you start from the Tourist Information Centre in Haworth the route takes you past Wuthering Heights pub (a good place to stop if you are doing this route in reverse) and Penistone Hill and over Bronte Falls then up the hill to Top Withins, believed by many to be Earnshaw’s house in Emily Brontes’ novel. Stop up there to savour the tremendous views to the north. From there you join the Pennine Way over the SSSI heather moor to Walshaw Dean Reservoirs (a good place to break for a snack or a picnic). Leaving the Pennine Way the path continues up and over the moor to the National Trust Estate at Hardcastle Craggs, a gloriously wooded valley with Hebden Water running through it. If you have time, explore Gibson Mill and have tea and a cake at the Muddy Boots Cafe.
